exactly my point. this is just the far right's latest battle in their continuing war against organized labor and the middle class. i've read that organized labor is down to 7% of all workers in america. breaking unions will, and has, always raised profits at the expense of the worker. not only in the form of decreased wages, but drastically decreased health benefits (if they get any at all) and the elimination of 401k and other retirement and savings options. the amnesty of millions of illegal immigrants will flood the market with so many workers willing to work for criminally low wages it'll be the end of organized labor in all but the most highly-skilled segments of the economy.

If this amnesty bill gets passed, it will be for one reason only. And that will be the same reason the Reagan passed an identical one in the late '80's. It will destroy the labor movement. That is it. When Reagan passed his bill, over half of union-driven companies were in negotiation for new (and hopefully better) contracts. When the bill was passed, almost 40% of those companies were able to break the union by staffing the entire labor side with newly legal immigrants who will work for a fraction of what the union members were being paid.
And Bush will do it again. Anything this administration does will always come down to corporate greed. His Big Business buddies are looking for more profit. So he'll find a way to give it to them.
