The ozone debate rages on
Despite all of the weather dominating the news (I think there was some kind of storm in Louisiana) several new outlets have been running stories on the continuing ozone layer debate. At least the fact that it’s broken isn’t the debate anymore. The BBC, playing the role of the pecimist, reports that the hole over Antarctica is the largest it’s ever been while CNN sites a study claiming the holes are stabilizing, if not recovering depleted ozone. As always who the hell knows which is correct. Should we keep up the good work and keep demanding fuel-efficient vehicles and greater reductions of ozone-depleting chemicals or say ‘fuck it!’ now that it’ll likely last long enough for us to die without being burnt to a crackely crunch by solar radiation. Let the kids deal with it… those tiny little bastards.
The ozone layer or cheese in a spray can? Don’t make me choose.
