dave, i'm not sure if your comment was in reply to my post or anne's comment. as of the time i wrote this post i only had the one tattoo, now i have 5 medium-large pieces and have no regrets about any of them. they all carry meaning to me and some clearly define periods of my life. like i said, no stupid ass, bored on a saturday night tribal crap. no fads or gimmicks. coincidentally i'm working on a full left sleeve right now.

sucks that anne got anything done that she later regretted, but it happens. hopefully it's small enough, basic enough or faded enough to get covered up.

interestingly, the tattoos you seem to talk about most are the "bad ones", indicating that perhaps despite your 6 months of expert planing, the rash descisions predominately have a longer lasting effect on your rationale.

I got several already and I think that you are right to an extent, I ve always thought of what i wanted but since im not artistic in anyway i just think of the idea and keep thinking until i know exactly why im getting this tattoo and what it means to me. But in my youth i did get a few bad tattoos (really bad)that were just random such as a bat which really didnt look like a bat, most are covered up now but still to this day I regret being so foolish, its definately a learning experience. I only got 3 bad tats and 2 were fairly small and simple to cover up but i have on on my calf its just an outline of some foreign shape which i have already been working on for quite some time but its going to be costly. Either way you should email me sometime i think you can get my email through here if not ill message you or something!

i got a spiderweb on my left elbow. i was going to have it done freehand in-shop, but they said the one i did in the GIMP was great so i just went with that. worked out great, though i still have yet to take a picture of it. i'm well into my normal ritual of choosing a tattoo design and putting it in my line of sight to see if i still want it after looking at it every day for 6 months. so far so good. at this rate i'll be getting at least another two done in the next month or two.

i'm still working on some scotland/scottish nationalist pieces which will be the majority of the ink i get done through the rest of this year...
